We would especially like to thank David McLenachan and Saphir Beaunol, our fabulous volunteer photographers, who have taken some great pictures at our events. Thanks also go to our Engagement Team for taking photos while they are out and about at events in the community.

This Van Can
GM Cancer Alliance are launching a new This Van Can initiative which will be touring Greater Manchester to raise awareness about the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer. The van aims to deliver education around bowel cancer symptoms and the importance of bowel screening. Finding bowel cancer early makes it much more treatable.
The van will visit all 10 Greater Manchester localities starting in Manchester and Salford before moving on to Trafford and Stockport in the early new year.

Who’s pledged to the Bee Seen, Get Screened?
Carbon Creative signed the Bee Seen, Get Screened pledge and took up the offer of screening awareness training for their staff.
Director, Kate Hadfield commented, “Thanks so much for the presentation last week, we have had really good feedback from the team and they all said they learnt something they didn’t previously know, which was great. Got some staff who are already chasing for check ups.”

Stakeholders Collaborative November 2024
Despite the cold and snowy weather, our Stakeholder Collaborative in Oldham on the 20th November 2024 was lively and well attended.
There were some great presentations from the Greater Manchester Bowel Cancer Screening Improvement Lead, Being There and NESTAC, plenty of opportunity for networking and for recognising all the participants achievements in promoting cancer screening.
Lots of ideas were shared about how Answer Cancer can continue to develop and we will be working on these over the coming months.
