-
Supporting Answer Cancer in raising awareness of the screening programmes available to your staff
Once signed up just take these three simple steps:
Step 1: Tell your Employees.
Below and elsewhere on our website you will find lots of ideas and assets, which will help you to do this. Shout about us in your newsletter, upload our awareness training onto your intranet, or hold a staff quiz there are many ways to spread the word.
Do not forget to include the details of your pledge in your staff handbook so that new starters are aware of it.
Step 2: Be Loud, Be Proud to pledge!
Share your commitment and pledge on your social media channels. We have some amazing assets that you can use, let us know if you would like any help with putting your logo on the assets.

FAQs
How do I sign up?
This is simple – just email us at info@answercancergm.org.uk with your organisation’s name and the contact details of the person who will be promoting this within your workplace. We suggest that this is someone in a senior position or your HR Manager. We will then get in touch to help you further.
What is the Bee Seen Get Screened Pledge?
By signing up to the pledge, employees promise that they will:
- Give staff time off to attend cancer screening or allow flexible working.
- Raise the profile of health & well-being in the workplace.
- Encourage our employees to talk about cancer & the importance of screening!
Why is it needed?
Cancer screening rates across Greater Manchester are some of the lowest in the country. We know that one of the barriers can be getting an appointment to fit around work and other commitments. For example, according to recent research by Jo’s Trust, only 1 in 5 full-time workers were able to get a convenient cervical screening appointment last time they tried to book.
Cancer screening is vital in tackling cancer as it helps pick up possible signs in their early stages, meaning they are easier to treat.
Do we have to be a voluntary sector organisation or a certain size to sign up?
No, we want all organisations & employers within Greater Manchester to sign up to the pledge! It doesn’t matter how many employees you have or the size of the organisation. You can be a voluntary group, public body or private sector company.
